Todd Roberts

Todd Roberts is Lead Partner of the Rockies State and Local Tax practice and the Inbound Tax Leader at PwC. As the Lead Partner and Inbound Tax Leader, Todd brings a global perspective to solve local problems. He takes the same approach with work as he does with life. Whether it’s diving into a deep technical issue or fly fishing with his sons, he enjoys mastering new concepts and immersing himself in new issues and strategically taking on complex topics. Todd is known for his ability to think creatively and ask the deep questions that enable his clients to overcome their tax challenges.

With over two decades of experience in state taxes in a variety of industries, including telecommunications and natural resources, Todd’s innovative approach in helping clients solve their tax issues is appreciated when dealing with mergers, acquisitions, refund reviews, legal entity structuring, and tax controversies.

As the Inbound Leader for State and Local Tax, Todd works closely with inbound companies as well as the Organization for International Investment in helping foreign companies understand the complexities of navigating the state and local tax landscape. He keeps inbound companies aware of the increased focus on them by state legislatures.

Todd’s work as the co-leader of the PwC National Reverse Income Tax Audit (RITA) practice involves knowledge sharing among the PwC offices. He helps ensure RITAs meet the correct quality and risk standards as well as bring the best ideas and value to PwC’s clients.

Todd is passionate about sharing knowledge, be it through teaching, speaking or authoring thought leadership. He enjoys the thrill of learning something new and in challenging himself to solve unusual problems. Todd is a frequent speaker at international, legal, and tax conferences.

Todd’s J.D. is from Chicago-Kent College of Law and his B.S. in Accountancy is from the University of Illinois. Todd is a member of the Illinois Bar and a licensed C.P.A. in Colorado and Illinois.
