Nick Richards currently practices at Dill Dill Carr Stonbraker & Hutchings – where he is a partner. His practice focuses on federal and state tax controversy, audits, litigation and trials, as well as collection matters and offers in compromise. Nick began his legal career as a trial attorney for the Office of Chief Counsel, Internal Revenue Service. During his 11 years with IRS Counsel, he was a trial attorney, offshore counsel, Special Assistant United States Attorney, and Staff attorney to the Chief and Division Counsels. In addition to his law practice, Nick is an adjunct professor of Law at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, where he teaches Civil and Criminal Tax Procedure for the Graduate Tax Program. He is a member of the Colorado and California State bars, the United States Tax Court, and other federal and state courts and professional bar associations.
