Courtney Cowgill has 30+ years of accounting experience. She has served in Chief Financial Officer, Chief Accounting Officer, Controller, and Internal Auditor Manager positions for the last 25 years. She has 10+ years of experience as CFO of two public companies in oil exploration plus restaurants/entertainment. Courtney’s career began with an international accounting firm and includes years of internal audit, controllerships, consulting and CFO. During that time, she earned her CPA, and the following certifications: CMA, CIA, CFE and recently, Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) and Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) from the AICPA.
Courtney has almost 100 years of consecutive board service on private, governmental, professional and charitable boards. She has served as Chair of the Colorado Lottery Commission, the Colorado Board of Accountancy and CollegeInvest – Colorado’s 529 College Savings Plan. All were gubernatorial appointments by different governors. Courtney served as Audit Committee Chair on the Cotter Corporation Board of Directors, a privately held uranium mining company. She has led seven different professional based non-profit professional organizations in Denver. Courtney served as National President of the American Society of Women Accountants in 1993-94, then an organization of 10,000+ accountants and CPAs. Today, besides serving on FEI Colorado Board, Courtney serves as Treasurer on the Metropolitan State University of Denver Foundation Board of Directors and served as the Alumni Association president for two years.
Courtney earned a BS in Accounting from Metro State and a MS in Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
