Partnership ‐ IRS Audit Update & Planning

This presentation will provide an overview of the new partnership audit rules, highlight significant changes between the new partnership and the current TEFRA procedural rules, and highlight areas where additional guidance is needed (e.g. effect on inside and outside basis, effect on capital accounts, and who is liable when partners have left).

Participants will learn:

  • The “old” partnership audit rules,
  • The “new” partnership audit rules,
  • Illustrative examples and potential unanswered issues, and
  • How to plan for the new partnership audit rules

General exposure to partnership taxation, partnership agreements, and the “old” partnership audit are recommended to fully understand concepts covered in this course.

This course qualifies for 1.0 hour of CPE in the Partnership Taxation field of study and 1.0 hour of CLE. It will be delivered in a live group method on November 28, 2016, from 10:30 to 11:20 am in Classroom A (Michael Chmelik) and 3:40 to 4:30 pm in Classroom B (Kevin Zeman) of the Denver Aquarium on 700 Water Street, Denver, Colorado.
