Behind the Scenes: A Series of Tax Exempt Vignettes

The course will be an overview of various income tax exemptions, all with interesting back-stories. Topics to be covered include (i) the impact of tax exempt universities on college town finances; (ii) the sports league tax exemptions; (iii) the limitations on political speech by 501(c)(3) groups; and (iv) the impact of the Supreme Court’s recent Trinity Lutheran case on public finance; and cause marketing. Participants will learn about the history and current impact of various tax exemptions. This is course is designed for all participants; no advance reading or knowledge is necessary, just a keen sense of curiosity.

This course qualifies for 1.0 hour of CPE in the Tax field of study. It will be delivered in a live group method on September 27, 2017, from 5:10 to 6:00 pm.

This course is designed to comply with Colorado State Board of Accountancy and NASBA CPE, and Colorado CLE standards. Participants are encouraged to confirm eligibility compliance with their jurisdiction.
