Virtually every company will have an unclaimed property obligation at some point, and many have an annual obligation to multiple jurisdictions. Every state, plus some Canadian provinces, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, has some form of unclaimed property legislation, and states have become increasingly aggressive in enforcing these laws. Determining what is reportable, and where and when, is often complex. A primer on the ever changing landscape in Unclaimed Property and Tax Incentives. Instruction will cover basic concepts, compliance issues, audit strategies and recent developments in these two rapidly developing areas. No preparation or previous knowledge are necessary for this course.
